Water Tower Rehabilitation Westchester Water District Number 3

Environmental Planning & Management, Inc. (EPM) performed inspections for the presence of asbestos containing materials, lead containing paints, and polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) solids at the Water District #3 water tower in Hawthorne, New York.  The Project Site includes a 1.5-million-gallon elevated water storage tank, enclosed storage area beneath, and two associated valve chamber vaults.

The project site was being considered for exterior and interior rehabilitation. The proposed work plan included the renovation of the tank and access road improvements.

Mamaroneck Ave Bridge over Mamaroneck River

EPM performed an asbestos and lead paint survey of all accessible areas with the potential to be impacted by the rehabilitation of Mamaroneck Ave Bridge over Mamaroneck River.

EPM prepared a Hazardous Material Survey Report outlining descriptions, locations, and quantities of the identified asbestos containing materials, and lead containing materials including recommendations for the proper remediation and disposal.

Bronx River Parkway Northbound Ramp Bridge (Yonkers and Mt Vernon, NY)

EPM performed a Hazardous Materials Inspection in connection with the rehabilitation of the Bronx River Parkway Northbound Ramp Bridge over the Bronx River Parkway to Cross County Parkway Westbound. The environmental inspection for asbestos containing materials and lead containing paint was conducted in the areas anticipated to be affected by the rehabilitation of the bridge.

EPM developed abatement design documents which provided detailed guidance for a designated contractor to remove the identified hazardous materials.  Staff also developed an abatement cost estimate which accompanied each design submittal.
