Abatement Services

EPM completed an On-Call Asbestos Abatement contract for the New York City Housing Authority. Assigned over 1700 asbestos abatement tasks throughout the New York City metropolitan area, EPM provided asbestos air and project monitoring services. 

The assignments were primarily asbestos abatement oversight during “move-out” projects.  Essentially, the abatement work was conducted over a single work day, whereby the flooring materials were abated and the apartment was cleared for re-occupancy. The work was done in two phases, in accordance with site specific variance procedures. On any given day, EPM typically monitored up to five (5) apartments, throughout the 5 boroughs. 

EPM also participated in bathroom renovation projects, where the objective was to turn the apartment back over to the tenant by 6:00 pm the same day.  The abatement consisted of pipe insulation and asbestos plaster abatement within the bathrooms. This work was conducted in accordance with site specific variances to Title 15 regulations.
